I can honestly say that there hasn’t been a single moment of a single episode of any of the Real Housewives franchises that I have felt any jealousy or envy. I’m not into their fake lifestyles. I am rather genuine and I like genuine people, the kind I see at Trader Joes or Whole Foods when I’m doing my weekly trip to the market.
I like wearing flip-flops in the summer or my Tom’s shoes and I think I even bought a pair of sweats just like the pair Kelly is wearing over at Costco the last time I was there. They work out perfectly for banging around the house.
Last week I posted a picture of Kelly and Jill enjoying a real, genuine hug and I think it’s one of the best pictures I’ve ever posted on this site. There were no fake eyelashes, no fake air kisses…it was a hug that real friends enjoy when they’re genuinely happy to see one another and, considering the weeks of hurt the girls had endured following their bad news from Bravo, one couldn’t help but relate to them as they held their hug.
I see this picture and I see a relaxed human…being. It further substantiates my suspicion that Kelly Bensimon was terribly mis-cast as a Real Housewife.
Kelly in her zen moments truly is a peaceful person and she didn’t belong on the Real Housewives of New York series with aggressive, anal retentive women who feel as though they have something to prove every second they’re in front of the camera. Every time I watched that show I was immediately up-tight, right along with them, forgetting all the drama.
Yes, Kelly is a real housewife and she’s enjoying the company of her gorgeous little girl doing the things that mothers and daughters do…just banging around together doing their chores…no heels…no fast pace…just being-ness. In fact, this pair makes life look pretty good in New York City.
So why, you might ask, would I be envious of Kelly Bensimon now?!! I am envious because she’s one of those girls who can put anything on and look good in it, and I don’t look so good when I’m wearing the same pair of sweats…although I wish I did.
