It’s not often that I agree with anything Kim Kardashian does, but today it was announced that Kim has decided to press charges against the woman who flour-bombed her.
The back story is that Kim was flour-bombed because she wears fur and the woman who flour-bombed her is against the wearing of fur. Peta has announced that it will finance the legal defense of the flour bomber, I presume because they want to encourage people to continue this practice.
I am certain you agree that individuals should not be allowed to walk up to celebrities and assault them, with anything. The fact that Kim was hit with something harmless is not the point. It could have been acid. You wouldn’t approve if someone did something like this to your child, for whatever reason.
Obviously, Kim is not a child, but she is a celebrity and, like it or not, we want to know everything we can about celebrities. That’s why we buy celebrity magazines and look at celebrity-related news and blog sites. This is why step and repeats exist. We want to see their pictures. We want to know what they’re wearing or the size of the engagement ring.
The minute we allow assault and battery to occur upon celebrities, by any means or of any substance, we have changed the way celebrities behave or, worse, they begin to hide from public view.
This woman should be prosecuted. A fine will cause no harm since Peta is going to fund her entire defense, so this woman needs to go to jail. Whether you believe in wearing furs or not, whether you hate Kim Kardashian or what she stands for or not we, as a society, simply cannot allow this type of thing to continue.
There are all kinds of causes we believe in out there and for nearly every human, there’s a different cause. This country is founded upon the principles of freedom of speech. It is not founded upon the principles of trying to sway people or influence people by assaulting others. The rule of law is that your right ends where my nose begins. Keep your distance. State your piece.
Your friend,

Seriously, if you don’t consider for one moment her Mother orchestrated this flour bomb incident to garnish sympathy for poor “Kimmie”, you need to step back and look at the whole PR machine working around re-vamping her money making machine daughters image .. IMO .. . xo
I think that the Kardashians will do ANYTHING for money and to further publicity, but I do not think this particular incident was orchestrated by them. I do believe that the decision to press charges was publicity-driven. They are whores, afterall, and they will do anything to create a media event. Thank you for your comment.
I absolutely agree with you she is doing the right thing in pressing charges against the “flour-bombing lady”. PETA needs to reassess their strategy in the fight against animal cruelty.
I wonder what PETA has to say about Genesis 9:3
I agree that PETA needs to try a more positive marketing approach. This idea that they should attack anyone is so offensive and it makes me want to pull out my furs and wear them, which I think is the opposite of what they want.
Assault
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assault
While I would never go to Wikipedia on definitions, the crime of assault does require fear and, since Kim did not see the offender prior to the offense, there was no assault involved. Just battery, which is certainly a crime punishable by law.
